Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kharagpur said on Saturday that its researchers have developed a portable diagnostic device, which provides a coronavirus test report in 60 minutes at an estimated cost of just Rs 400. IIT Kharagpur said, 'One can use this entire non-invasive Liva-based test as an alternative to lab devices at a very low cost, it is a portable device.' IIT Kharagpur stated that the results of this new technique have been strictly validated by all standard laboratory controls obtained from an RT-PCR (reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction) machine using synthetic viral RNA. Arindam Mondal, an assistant professor at the School of Bio-Science at IIT Kharagpur, said in a statement, 'The portable device developed by the IIT Kharagpur researchers is not only capable of examining the corona but also the device by following the normal procedure of any other RNA virus Can detect the type of symptom. ' If a pilot facility is required, the equipment developed by researchers at IIT Kharagpur will cost around Rs 2,000. The same portable unit can be used to test a large number of samples. After every check, only paper and cartridge will need to be changed. AIIT Kharagpur said that the device is ready for sale in the market. Any corporator or start-up can contact the institute to get it.
